The Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC) organized the "Higher Education Quality Commissions Training Meeting". The training meeting prepared for the quality commissions of higher education institutions was held online on January 24, 2024.
THEQC President, Prof. Dr. Ümit Kocabıçak, stated that they organized the first training program of the year in the opening speech of the meeting. Stating that he would like to continue the meeting in the form of question-answer sessions on Wednesday every week during the " Institutional Self-Evaluation Reports (ISER) " process, which higher education institutions must prepare every year for the previous year, President Prof. Dr. Kocabıçak expressed his hope that the training will be productive for the staff working in quality commissions. THEQC Board Member and President of the Institutional Self-Evaluation and Accreditation Commission, Prof. Dr. Feyza Arıcıoğlu, also gave information about the training process at the meeting.
Following the opening speeches, the participants were informed about topics such as the activities of THEQC, legislative and guideline changes, evaluation programs, criteria, frequently encountered problems in ISER, the calendar of evaluation programs for 2024, and the importance of continuity in practices. The meeting also focused on "Internal Quality Assurance? or ISER Writing?"; "What is the evidence?"; "Introduction of ISER Preparation Guide 3.2"; "Introduction of Quality Assurance Management Information System (KGYBS)". The meeting ended with the answers to various questions sent to YÖKAK via e-mail from the quality committees and the questions of the participants.
Representing our university at the meeting; Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Güven Özdem and Quality Coordinator Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şanal from the Accreditation, Academic Evaluation, and Quality Coordinatorship, Assistant Coordinators Assist. Prof. Dr. Firdevs İclal Karataş Aydın, and Assist. Prof. Dr. Hakan Sipahi participated.
