On June 3-5, 2022, the Quality Student Communities Summit (KATO'22), which lasted for three days and was hosted by Ege University, was held by THEQC Student Committee. Ezgi Ayar, a postgraduate in the Department of Turkish Language and Literature and President of the Quality Community, and Hilal Yıldız, a senior undergraduate student in the Turkish Language and Literature Department, participated in the summit.
On the first day of the program, in which quality community members from different higher education institutions participate, after the opening speeches of the Principal of the Higher Education Quality Council, Prof. Dr. Muhsin Kar, Vice-Rector of the Ege University Prof. Dr. Hakan Atılgan, the Academic Coordinator of the THEQC Student Committee, Assist. Prof. Dr. Gonca Uludağ and the Principal of the THEQC Student Committee Mehmet Bora; guest speakers, Prof. Dr. Birol Akgün made his presentation entitled with “Future Perspective for Turkey at the Crossroads of Global Transformation”, and Prof. Mustafa Yavuz made his presentation entitled with “Creativity and Innovation in Higher Education”. The first day of the program was completed with the presentations of the Principal of the THEQC Student Committee Mehmet Bora and the Academic Coordinator of the THEQC Student Committee, Assist. Prof. Dr. Gonca Uludağ entitled with Quality Assurance System in Higher Education and Student Participation”.
On the second day of the summit, student quality communities made their informative presentations about the community studies they conducted at their university in parallel sessions. After the presentations, Ege University organized a panel entitled with” Experiences of an Accredited University”. After the panel, group activities and networking cocktail were carried out in order to enable different community members to interact with each other.
The last day of the program concluded with a plaque ceremony named “Awarding the Quality Studies” and a general evaluation. At the end of the program, an excursion was organized to the Church of the Virgin Mary and the Ancient City of Ephesus.
