“Towards to Giresun University is on the Quality Journey at Giresun University: Rector-Student Meeting” Event Was Held

An event called “Towards to Quality Journey at Giresun University: Rector-Student Meeting” was organized by Accreditation, Academic Evaluation, and Quality Coordinatorship, and Quality Community on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, between 10:00 and 15:30.
The face-to-face event was held in two separate sessions in order to increase the students’ qualified participation and interaction in the quality assurance system, convey the feedback that was received regarding the improvement of the internal quality assurance system to the executives. The event was attended by student members of our university’s academic unit committees and students of faculty, institutes, colleges, vocational schools from the different campuses.
The first session of the program was conducted under the title "The Meeting of Accreditation, Academic Evaluation, and Quality Coordinatorship and Student Committee Mmebers". In this session, Dr. Firdevs İclal Karataş Aydın and Instructor Hakan Sipahi made a presentation about the roles of the students of our university’s academic unit quality committee in the internal quality assurance system.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa ŞANAL made the first presentation of the second session, which was held under the moderatorship of Dr. Firdevs İclal Karataş Aydın. Following the presentation by the honorable ŞANAL entitled with "Information on the Studies of Accreditation, Academic Evaluation, and Quality Coordinatorship," Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Güven Özdem gave a presentation entitled with "How Do Quality Assurance Processes Take Place at Giresun University?"
In the second session, which was completed with the "Rector-Student Meeting," our Rector, Prof. Dr. Yılmaz CAN, who informed the students about the recent developments and improvements at the university, continued his speech and said: "We give great importance to the requests of our esteemed students at the point of increasing the quality of the Giresun University. Our students are one of the most important stakeholders regarding the implementation of the studies on the quality processes of our university. In addition to learning about the problems and expectations of students through such meetings and trying to meet them, it is also extremely important for students to contribute to the university administration with their opinions and thoughts."
In the program, students’ feedbacks and questions gathered through our university‘s Accreditation, Academic Evaluation, and Quality Coordinatorship and Student Quality Community were answered by our Rector, Prof. Dr. Yılmaz CAN.
The event ended after the evaluation, gathering of feedback, and closing speech.
