The Unit Monitoring Programme is conducted in order to evaluate the quality assurance processes of our University's units on site, to disseminate good practice and to identify areas open to improvement together with the units. Under the programme, units first evaluate their own processes through the Unit Self-Evaluation Card and the Unit Self-Evaluation Report (USER); Unit Monitoring Teams, which include student members, then visit the units and examine their processes on site.
The evaluation reports prepared following the visits are conveyed to the units concerned together with improvement proposals and are followed up in subsequent periods. In this way a culture of self-evaluation spreads across the institution and the continuous improvement cycle becomes operational at unit level.
