Giresun University's 2025 Institutional Self-Evaluation Report (KİDR) has been prepared by the Coordination Office for Accreditation, Academic Evaluation and Quality, in accordance with Article 19 of the "Regulation on Higher Education Quality Assurance and the Higher Education Quality Council," and has been made available to the public and stakeholders.

The 2025 report marks a special turning point in our university's history: it is the first institutional evaluation document produced during the process in which Giresun University joined the Higher Education Quality Council's (YÖKAK) Institutional Accreditation Programme (KAP). The 2025 KİDR therefore serves as the cornerstone of our institutional accreditation journey and as a concrete report card of our readiness for external evaluation.

During its preparation, the preparation guide published by YÖKAK was taken as the basis; the Unit Self-Evaluation Reports (BÖDR), prepared with the contributions of the Unit Quality Commissions established in all academic units of our university, were assessed in an integrated manner. In line with the requirements of the KAP process, the report gives clear prominence to evidence-based reporting, traceability, and the internalization of the PDCA (Plan–Do–Check–Act) cycle within the units.

Being part of the Institutional Accreditation Programme is an indication that our university's quality assurance system has now reached a level of maturity that is open to external evaluation, traceable, and sustainable. Within this scope, the KİDR sets out the current state of our university with supporting evidence across all areas—from teaching and learning to research and development, and from leadership and governance to community engagement—systematically addressing both its strengths and its areas open to improvement.

Our University Rector, Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Can, extended his thanks to all academic and administrative staff who contributed to the preparation of the KİDR, first and foremost the team of the Coordination Office for Accreditation, Academic Evaluation and Quality; he emphasized that this new era leading to institutional accreditation will make a strategic and lasting contribution to the development of Giresun University.
