We attended the "Workshop on Quality Assurance System in Universities" hosted by Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) on October 10, 2023, at the Prof. Dr. Osman Turan Culture and Congress Center.
In his opening speech, KTU Rector Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Çuvalcı emphasized the importance of the Institutional Accreditation Program (IAP) process and the workshop. Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC) Academic Board Member Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Ağır made a presentation on the new regulations regarding the Institutional Self-Evaluation Reports (ISER). President of the Vocational Qualifications Institute (VQI), Prof. Dr. Mustafa Necmi İlhan, presented information about diplomas with the Turkish Qualifications Framework (TQF) logo and standards of qualifications. Afterward, representatives of universities that have been fully accredited for five years made presentations on quality assurance systems.
At the workshop, five-year-old fully accredited universities that have completed the Institutional Accreditation Program (IAP) process and those preparing for this program shared their experiences. In addition, opinions on the criteria within the scope of the Guidelines for the Preparation of Institutional Internal Evaluation Reports were discussed, and opportunities for cooperation between quality units among universities were discussed.
The workshop ended after the exchange of views and a group photo session. Representing our university, Branch Manager and Vice Coordinator from the Accreditation, Academic Evaluation, and Quality Coordinatorship, Seyfi Göktekin, and Coordinatorship Member Instructor Osman Serdal Karapınar attended.
