19 Ekim 2026 Pazartesi

The final report of the Workshop on Associate Degree Programme Design and Peer Review, which addressed the design, monitoring and updating processes of the associate degree programmes at our University’s vocational schools, has been prepared and published by the Accreditation, Academic Evaluation and Quality Coordinatorship.

The report brings together the outputs of the workshop held on 8 October 2026 on the Güre Campus. At the workshop, organised by our Coordinatorship with the contributions of the Coordinatorship of Vocational Schools, 72 associate degree programmes from our 11 vocational schools came together at 33 group tables; the department and programme heads, teaching staff and external stakeholder representatives of the programmes took part in the work.

The report covers the assessments made at the group tables, the decisions shared across tables, the peer review results and the views of participants. At the workshop the programmes jointly examined their course curricula, programme outcomes and the distribution of ECTS and student workload on the basis of evidence, and gave feedback on one another’s programme design through peer review. Thirty groups identified a total of 141 actions.

The satisfaction survey administered on the day of the workshop and afterwards was answered by 82 participants. On a five-point scale, overall satisfaction was measured at 4.28, and 89 per cent of respondents gave this item a score of 4 or 5. The highest scores were given to the preparatory support provided by our Coordinatorship and to the fact that the purpose of the workshop had been shared clearly in advance; 72 per cent of participants stated that they would like a similar workshop to be held every year.

The seventh chapter of the report sets out a two-stage joint action plan and process calendar for preparing the curricula to be applied from the 2027-2028 academic year onwards. The first stage provides for the decisions in the group reports to be adopted by the programme and department boards and recorded in the improvement monitoring schedule; the second stage provides for programme educational objectives and programme outcomes to be updated in line with the MEDEK Associate Degree Programme Criteria v2.0 and for the curricula to be prepared with stakeholder input.

The report also sets out the documents required in the curriculum proposal file, the alignment of the action plan with the academic calendar, and the monitoring steps of the process. Our Coordinatorship will follow up the workshop actions through interim monitoring in January and May 2027 and will provide support to our units.

This work is intended to form the basis for preparing our programmes for the national accreditation processes in 2028. The report can be reached at kalite.giresun.edu.tr; you may send your views and suggestions to our Coordinatorship at kalite@giresun.edu.tr.
