The Giresun University Alumni Information System, which enables our graduates to maintain their connection with the university, to share their career information and to reach alumni services from a single point, has been brought into service at mezun.giresun.edu.tr through the coordination and cooperation of the Coordinatorship of Accreditation, Academic Evaluation and Quality and the Department of Information Technologies. In the renewed system, alumni data is compiled at institutional level, alumni feedback is recorded and communication with graduates becomes traceable.
Our graduates log in with their student numbers to update their profile information, complete the alumni survey and use the message board and chat rooms; they may also submit diploma and diploma supplement requests online. In the Alumni Corner section, articles, success stories, event announcements and job postings can be shared, and the content submitted is published after administrator approval. Stories that graduates have consented to publish under their own names and that are featured by the administration appear in the Alumni Showcase, while calls addressed to graduates are issued through the Announcements section. Statistics screens presenting graduate numbers by general, provincial and unit-based breakdowns are likewise open to everyone.
Our units can also reach their own graduates directly. Within the permissions defined for them, unit administrators may view their unit's alumni pool, send announcements to their graduates by bulk e-mail and text message, and manage surveys and messages specific to their units. These permissions are defined unit by unit with due regard to the protection of personal data.
Quality assurance in higher education requires alumni feedback to be collected regularly and used in decision-making processes. Our graduates' employment status, fields of work and assessments of the education they received feed directly into the review of programme outcomes, the updating of course content and the planning of career services. Within the 2026 Institutional Accreditation Programme conducted by the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK), the existence of an alumni tracking system, the use of the data it produces in decision-making processes and the continuity of communication with graduates are each assessed separately. Alumni data gathered in a single institutional structure rather than in scattered records finds its direct counterpart in this assessment.
Our graduates are invited to register at mezun.giresun.edu.tr, update their profile information, complete the alumni survey and contribute to the Alumni Corner.
