17 Ekim 2026 Cumartesi

The 2026-2027 Academic Year Student Orientation Programme Evaluation Report, which assesses at unit level the attendance and satisfaction results of the orientation programme held for students enrolling at our University in the 2026-2027 academic year, has been prepared and published by the Accreditation, Academic Evaluation and Quality Coordinatorship.

The report evaluates the orientation programme, held as 21 sessions on the central campus and on our district campuses between 28 September and 13 October 2026, on the basis of the attendance records taken during the sessions and the satisfaction survey administered at the end of the programme. The Department of Student Affairs, the Department of Health, Culture and Sports, the Department of Library and Documentation, the exchange programme coordinatorships, faculty members working in the field of addiction prevention and our Coordinatorship informed our students during the programme. In the information sessions our Coordinatorship delivered throughout the programme, quality and accreditation processes were explained to our students.

According to the attendance records collected via QR code during the sessions, 2,049 of our 5,640 associate and undergraduate students registered in 2026 attended the programme, and the university-wide attendance rate was 36 per cent. Attendance rises markedly in units that held their session on their own campus and for their own students only. Şebinkarahisar Vocational School of Health Services with 81 per cent, the School of Civil Aviation with 77 per cent, the Faculty of Health Sciences with 76 per cent and Görele School of Applied Sciences with 73 per cent are among our units reaching the highest attendance rates. The report presents the practices of these units as good examples for our other units.

The satisfaction survey sent at the end of the programme was answered by 91 of our students. Of the students who responded, 66 per cent state that they were satisfied with the programme and 79 per cent state that they would recommend it to next year’s students; the proportion finding the session duration appropriate is measured at 82 per cent. Our students expect the programme to contribute more to their familiarity with their own departments and units.

The report sets out eleven improvement proposals for the 2027-2028 orientation programme. The proposals cover completing the orientation within the first week of classes across all campuses, including every unit in a common calendar, appointing an orientation officer in each unit, announcing sessions at least one week in advance and keeping session hours free in the course timetable, adding a part in which each unit introduces its own departments and programmes alongside the common briefing, adding presentations on psychological counselling, the Disabled Student Unit, career planning and information technology services, and administering the satisfaction survey in the hall at the end of the session.

The sixth chapter of the report defines an attendance monitoring and improvement process for our units. Units with an attendance rate of 50 per cent and above are classified as “good”, those between 25 and 50 per cent as “to be monitored”, and those below 25 per cent as “improvement required”; the Plan, Do, Check and Act steps are set out for each unit together with the responsible party and the timing. With the 2026-2027 results taken as the baseline, the attendance status of our units is intended to be reassessed by the same method in the 2027-2028 orientation.
