Ahead of the FEDEK site visit to the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, scheduled for 14-17 November 2026, an evaluation meeting was held on Friday, 9 October 2026 with the participation of our Coordinatorship.
The meeting, held in the Mathematics Seminar Room of the Faculty, was attended by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şanal, Coordinator of Accreditation, Academic Evaluation and Quality; Assist. Prof. Hakan Sipahi, Deputy Coordinator; Coordinatorship members Assist. Prof. Enis Taşçı and Lecturer Osman Serdal Karapınar, together with the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and faculty members of the Department of Mathematics.
The meeting addressed the preparations expected from the department within the FEDEK evaluation process: the measurement of programme outcomes, the alignment of course teaching plans with programme outcomes, the documentation of stakeholder participation and the evidencing of the continuous improvement cycle. The documents the evaluation team will examine during the site visit and the questions it will seek answers to were shared.
The Institutional Accreditation Programme (KAP) carried out at our University was also on the agenda. Participants discussed how programme accreditation and institutional accreditation reinforce one another, how evidence produced at department level is reflected in the Institutional Self-Evaluation Report, and the timetable of the online pre-visit on 26 October 2026 and the site visit on 15-18 November 2026. As both accreditation processes run in the same period, the importance of coordination in the preparations was underlined.
Our Coordinatorship contributes to the accreditation preparations of the Department of Mathematics within the framework of quality assurance criteria and will continue to work alongside the department in the following stages of the process.
We thank the management of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and the faculty members of the Department of Mathematics for their contributions.
