A meeting was held on Monday, 12 October 2026 at 14.30 with the Unit Quality Committee of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and the Accreditation, Academic Evaluation and Quality Coordinatorship.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şanal, Coordinator of Accreditation, Academic Evaluation and Quality; Assist. Prof. Hakan Sipahi, Deputy Coordinator; Coordinatorship members Assist. Prof. Enis Taşçı and Lecturer Osman Serdal Karapınar, together with Prof. Dr. Günay Kaya, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the vice deans and the members of the unit quality committee.
The FEDEK accreditation processes of the programmes within the Faculty were addressed first. The evaluation criteria, the stages of preparation and the evidence expected from the unit were discussed, and the work carried out so far by the departments running the process was reviewed.
The preparations for the Institutional Accreditation Programme (KAP) carried out at our University were also on the agenda. The timetable of the online pre-visit on 26 October 2026 and the site visit on 15-18 November 2026 was shared, and the ways in which programme accreditation and institutional accreditation reinforce one another, together with the reflection of evidence produced at unit level in the Institutional Self-Evaluation Report, were addressed.
The Academic Data Management System (UNİS), recently put into use at our University, was also introduced at the meeting. The opportunities the system offers for gathering academic data in a single centre and for using it as evidence in quality processes were explained.
At a time when programme and institutional accreditation preparations are being carried out in the same period, the briefing meetings our Coordinatorship holds with academic units are intended to help the preparations advance simultaneously and to ensure that the evidence produced in units is reflected more effectively in institutional reporting.
We thank the management of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and the members of the unit quality committee for their contributions.
