At the 251-numbered senate meeting held under the chairmanship of Rector Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Can on February 8, 2024, it was unanimously decided to prepare all units for the application of the Institutional Accreditation Program (IAP) in 2025 and to quickly eliminate the deficiencies related to the Bologna process. Following this decision, the Accreditation, Academic Evaluation, and Quality Coordinatorship started to organize meetings in line with the coordinatorship planning and requests from academic units. In the first stage, meetings were held with Keşap Vocational School on February 21, 2024, and the School of Foreign Languages on February 22, 2024.
During the meetings, the Deputy Coordinator of Accreditation, Academic Evaluation, and Quality Coordinatorship, Assist. Prof. Dr. Hakan Sipahi gave information about the quality assurance and program accreditation processes at the university. Topics such as institutional external evaluation processes carried out by the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC), Institutional Accreditation Program (IAP), program steps, criteria, evaluation method, and legislation implementation were discussed.
In these meetings attended by the managers and academic staff of academic units, the Accreditation, Academic Evaluation, and Quality Coordinatorship member Instructor Osman Serdal Karapınar, on the other hand, shared unit-specific data on the Bologna process and provided information for the completion of the processes by the units.
